Darkorbit is 1 of the most awesome games i ever played. people who complain about this game r completely crazy. its true there is no noob protection, but were u start out it is very rare for a very strong ship to come into that area or the 3 maps ahead of u. in other words the ships where u start are very weak. Darkorbit is enjoyable. However, it’s not very friendly to its customers and gamers. Since expanding, the servers have been burdening players with a lot of lag. Also, they are unwilling to acknowledge faults on their end(problems that can severely inhibit players hard earned accounts)but are willing to put in overtime to censor any sort of speaking out. You lose benefits earned from long hours of play or bought with cold hard cash due to server lag or inadequate presentation of services? Too bad. I started playing this game and true got destroyed quite a few time until you get up in rank and better ships…BUT…it seems money is on their mind. They have added numerous extras and colored ships and seems to overload servers. I play on the eastern server and found numerous bugs that support fails to acknowledge as they say they cannot replicate them. In the past if a bug was found you lost whatever you gained from it. This time i was told by support, and have email, to use bug to my advantage and tell players I have permission. This says to me that the game is getting away from the support team and is going downhill due to sever lag.
Don’t bother with this game. Played the U.S. Global server. EPIC lag when the server gets busy in the evening. So bad you can’t play at all. Also, way to expensive to play even free. You need to farm for hours to collect “Uridium”. This is what the game requires to upgrade and buy Elite ships and items.
Just when you think you have enough Uridium to upgrade, some enemy comes along and kills you. You don’t even have a chance against these Elite killers and you wind up spending your Uridium to repair your ship. Game is totally unbalanced when it comes to pvp and very difficult to get the good upgrades and levels.
I am very upset at the charges which have occured up to 13 in one day from my son playing, £70 for uranium? close to £400 over two days, this is fraud, customer service is non existant and I am still waiting to have the money refunded. Apparently they can continue to take from my account as they have my card details even if there is no more money, be aware of the way they charge your account, doesn anyone else have any similar stories?
This game does not seem to be getting better. Dark Orbit has just bought new equipment, or say they have, but there is no difference in game play. They seem to take care of abusive players in chat, and at times the chat seems to sensitive for some words, but overall the problems(bugs) are ever present. How can you purchase an extra, find three bugs that are documented with it and be told play with the bugs as we cannot replicate it or fix it. ALWAYS BAD LAG on eastern server exactly 5 min. past every hour. Breezed thru the first 8 waves of Alpha gate and never went back due to game problems. For Rachel with the card problem you can delete your info and/or account and there should be no more problems as I have had no i nstances of card abuse or overcharging from them.

The game DOES suffer lag. And as for your comment about too much stuff on a PC, you are talking rubbish! I’m graphic designer and have the second fastest laptop on the market and 20mps connection speed and I had major problems with this game. And as for the fraud comment, have you been to the forums trying to con people into buying credits for existing players!?! I’m currently building a legal case against bigpoint because of their breech of trading standards and I’ve spoken to about 90 people who have been conned by other players or bigpoint staff! The whole company is a money grabbing fraud! And to top it all of the game is repetative sh*t.
LAG LAG LAG Death and how can ones pc have lag and everyone on chat says watch for top of hour lag. They bought hi-speed servers due to lag so don’t say there is no lag and gameplay is getting worse as rockets stop and locks are lost within a ships length from fighting and have support emails to prove it.
This game is going downhill fast. Since they out more extras in the problems started. Rockets not firing, locks being lost and a multitude of others. I reported a problem in March after an update to the game and it is 5 months later and still the problem exists. All I get is “we gave it to the coders who are very busy”. Busy making money grabbing bs and players who play for the fun are left to wonder if this game will ever be fixed.
The game is pretty much the worst mmo I have been with for over a month. There is too much abuse between FE goliaths and smaller ships including bigboys. There is little protection for ships in pvp and their level system simply makes matters worse. Higher levels have the ability to kill lower ships in X-1? Totally unacceptable. Once, I asked them if they could make seperate game worlds and or ship vs ship restricions. Noo.. They simply said elites help low ships all the time. The truth is, if you just simply shoot a goli as a warning shot so they can stop stealing cargo, and etc, they pk you. As for the lag, I have never experienced any bad lagg unless there is some obvious reason for it. Try avoiding the areas where there are 10+ ships on your screen. And another thing, DO NOT SPEND YOUR CASH FOR BIGPOINT!!!!! Take advantage of the fact that you can actually get all ingame items without spending cash. Ive played for quite a while and without spending 1 cent on DO but takeing advantage of the comeback bonus, i have vengi, 14 lf3 10 speed engine, and 2 iris. Many games require you to pay for a subscription just to have the ability to get better items or even to just play the game. Also, for bad support, try avoiding the spending as i have said so that you dont get into a crazy mess where you have to go to court, or you go crazy with emails and stuff like that. The only thing I have used support for was on a comeback bonus. Additionaly, the game really doesnt update much. If you look at the forums, it may seem the game constantly changes but look at it again: it is just mostly the same events, errors from DO, and compensation plans.

WRONG.
When you die, you do not start all over again like you said. You start off with a FREE ship, that has FREE repairs. And, that is what you use in the beginning to build up your credits{money}. Once, you build up your credits you start buying better things, which will make you live longer in the game.
And, there is noob protection, not none at all. The first map has protection against your own company. There is also neutral zones, where you cannot be shot at by any company, until you leave the zone. There is also a threat meter located next to your map. When an enemy comes into your territory the meter goes up. Giving noobs time to get these neutral zones.
this game is beast all u people who r crying about this and that SHUT UP no one cares. this game is awesome u may have to work hard but that totally pays off. if u want a good game that will get u hooked choose this one. i had football 2day and i was thinking about this game. ITS BEASTLY COOL!!!!

i like this game but i dont reccommend spending money on items or ships if you can get it all free
